Internet Fax Sucks

Why Internet Fax Sucks

  • You have to pay a monthly fee whether you use it or not.
  • Faxes can take longer to get to a recipient than using a fax machine.
  • Sometimes it takes a long time to get a fax from someone.
  • I don’t have the paper sitting on my fax machine to notify me I have a fax.
  • It can be hard to contact the Internet Fax companies support group

Although all these things are true, Internet Fax does have its advantages.

  • First and foremost it works as easily as sending an email
  • It’s Green
  • Faxes are legal documents
  • Once you send a fax you don’t have to wait by a fax machine to take it with you
  • It offers fax privacy since you can’t accidentally leave a fax on the fax machine
  • It is usually faster than a machine and has no busy signals.
  • You can send almost any type of file without having to print it out first
  • You may still get some fax spam but at least it won’t be littering the floor of your office in the morning
  • You can send to one of Many people by simply adding them to your to line in your email program
  • It will save you money in the long run.

iPhone Interface for MymBox Fax

South Pacific based MyMbox now offers a MyMbox iPhone interface. I’ve not yet tried this but you can find the free iPhone download at the app store under Business or search for mBox Fax & Voice. It looks pretty slick, gets good reviews. This requires an mBox account  which you can try for 30 days for free. The last time i checked mBox had limited number availability but in most cases where your fax number is located makes no differece with today’s flat rate phone service. www.mymbox.com

I’ll be doing a full review on mBox soon so check back or subscribe to my feed.
