What The Fax Report Thinks is the Most Important Factors when Considering these Reviews
Resolution of complaints is the most important factor when looking at these reviews. Why? Because once you purchase Internet fax that has the features you are looking for, your most likely to experience any problems in the first 30-90 days when you’re still learning.
All the other ranking issues are important, but we believe less so.
What is a Common Complaint Against Internet Fax companies?
The most common complaints are as follows:
- You signed up for a trial, you forgot to cancel and they send you a bill. Most companies will refund you if you had almost no usage and notify them within 30 days of the end of the trial
- Delivery not as fast as you expected. Internet fax is very fast and when you consider all the factors in sending a fax manually, it’s a better deal all around. It is not however instantaneous.
How to avoid Problems
If you sign up for a trial, please do write down the date the trial ends and cancel it according to the instructions for the service. Note each service has a different method for cancellation.
Be realistic in times faxes will be sent. In general if you fax in the middle of the day, between noon and 5 pm, faxes might take a bit longer to go through. If you fax first thing in the morning or in the early evening, they will go through faster.

We think they are an excellent guide on how quickly the company will respond to a problem and if they generally fix it to a users satisfaction. However, if you consider a company with a very large base of customers like eFax, what at first appears like customer indifference may simply be an issue of a backlog of issues to deal with.

Sending a fax to an email account is a relatively easy proposition. You can try one of the Free online fax sending services, which have limitations or you can choose from dozens of top Internet fax services including the top services we review on The Fax Report.
How does Sending a Fax to Email work?
- Sign up for a Free trial of an Internet Fax service
- They will assign you a fax number
- You will register with the email ID you want to receive fax’s too and send faxes from
- When a fax is sent to your internet fax number your service will turn it into a PDF or TIFF file. (which to choose)
- The fax company will send you the PDF as an attachment in an email.
You then only have to open the attachment with Adobe Acrobat (free software almost everyone has) and read, print or forward it.

The IRS will not let you fax your tax return in. They will accept certain forms for missing documents but not the return itself.

Internet faxes biggest drawback only occurs if you are sending faxes that require you to send documents that you have either filled out or signed. So, how do you deal with this?
- You can scan a document into your PC and send it. This is easy if you have one of the newer Print/Scan/Copy printers that are on the market.
- Keep you fax machine and put a Y adapter on your home or home office phone line. This way you can cancel you current fax phone line and still have a way to fax.
So why would I want to sign up for Internet Web fax if I still need a fax machine?
- Put a Y adapter on your current phone line allows you to cancel your fax only line.
- You will likely pay less for an Internet fax service than the extra phone line for a fax machine. Internet fax services can be had for less than $10 a month including incoming faxes. Phone lines can cost as much as $17-20 a month with taxes and fees.
- Internet fax offers the ability to receive multiple faxes at the same time. This means your customers will never get a busy signal.
- It is easier to forward a web fax to someone else than a traditional fax.
- Your faxes are easily stored on your PC
- Only print the faxes you want to print
